Construction Update: Iron Horse Trail Overcrossing

IHT Overcrossing at Bollinger

The Bollinger Canyon Road Bicycle and Pedestrian Overcrossing is making substantial progress toward completion.

Recently, the Overcrossing deck infill joints were installed. This process required a concrete truck with a pumping mechanism to deliver the concrete up to the deck surface to fill the joints. Work was done without a full road closure and completed in one day. This is a major milestone because it provides a complete and final bridge deck walking surface.

Anti-graffiti coating was also recently applied to the Overcrossing structure to provide resistance to vandalism.

Currently, many additional tasks are in process:

• Topsoil is being placed in landscaping areas in preparation for planting
• Plants and trees have been ordered and delivery / installation will begin soon
• Decorative boulders are being installed
• Electrical work is taking place for the Overcrossing lighting
• Handrails have been ordered and will begin arriving on-site in weekly deliveries through the end of February

The anticipated completion date for the Overcrossing is August 2025.
