The City of San Ramon has launched a planning process for its new Trails Master Plan, and is seeking community input. A public survey on trail use, along with potential improvements, is open through July 15, 2025.

Construction of the Iron Horse Trail Overcrossing at Bollinger Canyon Road is nearly complete. The overcrossing will open in Summer 2025.

The City of San Ramon's annual budget process is complete. The City Council unanimously voted to adopt of the Fiscal Year 2025/26 Proposed Budget by resolution at the City Council Meeting on May 27.

In the November 5, 2024 Municipal Election, San Ramon voters approved Measure N, a ballot measure to adopt a 1% local sales tax.

In an effort to provide the opportunity for feedback early in the process on residential housing projects submitted under SB330, City staff is posting new housing projects to this page, and will conduct a Study Session on each.

On November 21, 2024, Sunset Development Company submitted formal applications for The Orchards Development Project (formerly Chevron Park). The applications are currently under review by the City for completeness. The City expects the first public hearings to be scheduled around late summer 2025.

At a public hearing on March 14, 2023, the City Council adopted a Resolution to deny the CAMPAD appeal; uphold the Applicant appeal; and approved the Project applications with modified Conditions of Approval.

Westside Specific Plan Amendment and El Nido Senior Assisted Living Development

The proposal includes 114 detached row homes, 154 detached courtyard, and 136 townhomes developed at 18.5 dwelling units per acre and a 2-acre park site.

The City of San Ramon has released the Public Review Draft of the Crow Canyon Specific Plan (CCSDP) Update. On May 19, 2020, the Planning Commission held the first of a series of public hearings.

The City Council adopted the Policy on Small Wireless Facilities and Other Infrastructure Deployments Within the Public Rights-Of-Way (Policy) by Resolution No. 2019-087, in response to the declaratory ruling issued by the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) in September 2018. The Policy applies to all proposals for Small Wireless Facility deployments in the City and requires certain public notice and outreach procedures in order to inform the public of all Small Wireless Facility deployments.

On August 4, 2020, the San Ramon Planning Commission approved the CityWalk Master Plan, Sunset Development's Master Plan for portions of Bishop Ranch designed as City Center Mixed Use.

Small cell facilities are low-powered antennas installed by private telecommunication providers, such as cell phone service providers, to improve cellular and data coverage to small geographic areas. Federal and state law requires cities to allow small cell facilities in the public right of way, which includes streets and sidewalks.
