San Ramon City Council Strategic Goal-Setting Workshop

On Saturday, February 15, the San Ramon City Council will hold its annual Strategic Goal-Setting Workshop in the Terrace Room at the San Ramon Community Center (12501 Alcosta Blvd.) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
At this workshop, the Council will review recent accomplishments and challenges; Council roles and responsibilities; City mission, vision and values; and strategic goals for the coming year.
This event is open to the public, and will include designated time for public comment.

San Ramon Olympic Lap Pool Re-Open

As of Monday, February 3, renovations are complete on the Olympic Lap Pool at the San Ramon Aquatic Park (9900 Broadmoor Drive, San Ramon CA 94583). These eight lanes have re-opened to the public. To see lap swim hours, please visit the link below.

Chosen as the "Best way to culturally globe-trot on Friday nights" by Diablo Magazine, the San Ramon Friday Foreign Film Series returns in February 2025.
This year the series will focus on foreign cinema directed by women with films from China, India, Japan and Republic of Kosovo.
Each screening will be followed by a group conversation led by a moderator.

City Council / Planning Commission Joint Public Hearings on General Plan Amendment for Downtown Mixed-Use North

Two joint public hearings with the City Council and Planning Commission have been scheduled for Tuesday, February 11 at 6 p.m. and Tuesday, February 25 at 6 p.m. at San Ramon City Hall (7000 Bollinger Canyon Road). These two hearings are the first two of three required to consider a proposed amendment to the City's General Plan 2040 and Zoning Ordinance.
The proposed amendment would allow property owners within the Downtown Mixed Use (DMU) North zone to: 1) propose development with a lower amount of building floor area in relation to the size of the parcel that the building is located on, and 2) may lower the intensity of development.

Apply Now: Free 10-Week Community Academy with Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office

Applications are open for a Community Academy run by the Contra Costa County’s District Attorney’s Office. This free, 10-week program is designed to provide adults living or working in Contra Costa County a comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice system. This includes understanding how cases are filed, exploring the various types of crimes the DA's office investigates and prosecutes, and delving into the multifaceted role of the DA's office, which extends beyond prosecuting cases.
In addition to weekly classroom sessions, the Community Academy offers unique experiences, including tours of the Martinez Detention Facility, and Superior Court, and participating in a mock trial. This approach allows participants to gain practical insights into the inner workings of our criminal justice system.
Sessions take place in-person on Wednesdays from 6–8:30 p.m. from March 12 – May 14.
Applications are due by Friday, February 28.

Join a tour of DSRSD’s regional wastewater treatment facility and learn how DSRSD cleans and treats 13 million gallons of wastewater each day!
The next public tour takes place on Thursday, February 13 at 9:30 a.m. and is accepting registrations from DSRSD customers.
Tours are approximately 90 minutes long and are open to participants over the age of 10.
Tours take place at the Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility (7399 Johnson Drive, Pleasanton).

Tri-Valley Water Conservation Art Contest

K-12 students in the Tri-Valley, including those living or attending school in DSRSD’s Dougherty Valley service area, are eligible to enter the first annual Tri-Valley Water Conservation Art Contest for K-12th-grade students.
This year’s theme, “Habitat Heroes: Transforming Lawns into Vibrant Native Gardens”, encourages students to let their imagination “go wild” by creating artwork showcasing how replacing thirsty lawns with California native plants can conserve water, support biodiversity, and build healthier habitats. Submissions may include photography, painting, digital artwork, and more!
Artwork must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 3.

The Art and Wind Festival is the City of San Ramon’s largest event, and returns May 25–26, 2025!
The Art and Wind Festival attracts people from across the Bay Area (and beyond!) to San Ramon’s beautiful Central Park and throughout the City. Last year the Art and Wind Festival drew approximately 40,000 people to the two-day event.

The 2025 Winter Walk Challenge Has Begun!

511 Contra Costa's annual Winter Walk Challenge began on January 13, 2025.
From now through March, participants will receive a weekly “Walk Challenge” where participants are asked to submit a selfie or photo to earn entry into the weekly drawings. Each Monday, 10 participants will be selected for a $20 Amazon gift card, and will automatically be entered into the drawing for the iPad Grand Prize!
