Measure N Update: April 1–June 30, 2025 Revenue
Posted on 12/18/2025

In November 2024, San Ramon voters approved Measure N, resulting in a 1% increase in local sales tax, effective April 1, 2025.

Measure N will be in effect for 10 years, and the City is approaching Measure N funds as 10 one-time sources of revenue. These funds will help balance the City’s budget while it explores options for long-term financial resilience.

Sales tax is collected and allocated by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA), which provides revenue data six months after the beginning of each quarter.

The City received its first Measure N data in October 2025 for the period April 1 – June 30, 2025 (the final quarter of the 2024/25 fiscal year). Measure N generated $3.45m in revenue for the quarter, very close to the $3.5m estimated by the City’s sales tax consultant. The funds are currently unallocated.

In 2026, the City Council will begin work on its plan for financial resilience (see Oct 28 City Council Meeting), which will guide the use of available funds.

Looking ahead, the Fiscal Year 2025/26 (July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026) budget includes Measure N revenues estimated at $14.8m:

  • $10m in Measure N funds have been allocated to cover existing essential City services.
  • An additional $1.9m was allocated to discretionary expenditures related to program or staffing requests.
  • At the adoption of the FY26 Budget, $2.9m of Measure N funds remained unallocated.
