What is a Portable Outdoor Storage Unit?
The Zoning Ordinance defines a Portable Outdoor Storage Unit as any container designed for the transportation and/or storage which is typically rented to owners or occupants of property for their temporary use and is delivered and removed by truck. These units may be provided by companies such as PODS, SmartBox, or 1-800-Pack-Rat.
The Zoning Ordinance limits the number, size, total volume, and the number of days a unit may be placed on private property. For units located on a public street, please contact the Public Works - Engineering Division at (925) 973-2670 to obtain permit requirements.
