ELECTIONS

CONDUCTING ELECTIONS:

The City Clerk is the elections official for the City of San Ramon, responsible for conducting municipal elections and provides election support to officeholders, candidates, and ballot measure proponents and opponents.

The City's regular General Municipal Election is held on the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November on even-numbered years.

MUNICIPAL ELECTION - NOVEMBER 5, 2024

The three seats up for election in November 2024 include:

Mayor at-large (all voters Citywide)
Councilmember from District 1
Councilmember from District 3

For the November 5, 2024 the nomination period will open on Monday, July 15, 2024 and close on Friday, August 9, 2024. If applicable, the extended nomination period will close on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

The City Clerk is a candidate’s primary source of information during the nomination and election process. QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE:

Be a U.S. citizen.
Be a registered voter at the time the Declaration of Candidacy is issued.
Must be registered in the political subdivision for which you are running.
Not have been convicted of a felony involving accepting or giving, or offering to give, any bribe, the embezzlement of public money, extortion or theft of public money, perjury, or conspiracy to commit any of those crimes.
