Dark Skies Alliance Walk & Talk
Join Dark Skies Alliance on a special evening walk. The evening will include a discussion on how city lighting effects human behavior and psychology, as well as the effects of different lighting on animals, insects, and the environment. This walk kicks off "Earth Quarter" a special series of events leading up to Earth Day. Event is FREE but registration is required. Register by clicking the date you would like to attend.

Teen Environmental Stewardship and Service Learning
Ages 14 - 17
Become a leader in environmental stewardship, earn volunteer service hours, build your portfolio, and explore career options. Each week teens will learn about environmental issues and solutions they can implement in their communities. Guest speakers who are experts in their fields will share career insights and solutions to environmental issues. Teens will complete a capstone portfolio project that will be presented on Earth Day or during San Ramon Summer Nature Camps 2025. Register by clicking the session you are interested in.
Session #1 ($120) : Mondays from 4:30 - 6:00 pm (March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st and April 14th) Plus Saturday, April 19th.
Session #2 ($100): Mondays from 4:30 - 6:00 pm (April 21, 28. May 5, 12, and 19)
For The Birds - Family Birding Day
March kicks off the Northern Spring Migration for many birds. Join us for a day of family friendly birding! Learn about local species in your own backyard, spotting and identification techniques, and more! It's fun for the whole family with bird themed games, crafts, and a bird spotting walk!

Nature Letterboxing
Letterboxing is a hobby that combines art, puzzle solving, and orienteering. It's similar to geocaching, but without the use of GPS.
What is Woose Hogging? Register for the event to find out! Registrants will be sent clues to find treasure boxes hidden around San Ramon, with prompts for finding the next box and nature challenges to celebrate Woose Hogging inside.

Headwaters Science Institute, Spring Field Day: Urban Nature and City Critters
Ages 5 - 14
Urban nature is a growing field of study for biologists. Explore the city of San Ramon on a day of hands-on fun and science exploration! Students will engage with experts, using real scientific methods to discover the secrets of city critters and how they survive in an urban landscape.
This is a fantastic field day for budding biologists and a great way to skill build and explore field science as a career option. It's also just a fun way to spend the day, outside, hands on, connecting with nature.
We have a group for 5-10-year-olds and a Middle School program for 11-14-year-olds. This immersive field day promises engaging activities and fascinating insights into how nature is present, even in an urban environment.

Wildflower Walk with Plantify
Decode the colorful world of wildflowers with expert botanists from Plantify, a non-profit that connects people to nature, on this guided wildflower walk through Las Trampas Park. The hike is generally considered moderate and should take 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.

For The Birds - Intro to Birding
Spring Migration is in full swing! Join us for a gentle walk around Annabelle Lake as we share tips for new birders and look for migratory species that pass through San Ramon.

Earth Panels
Join us for an interactive panel series with experts to talk about climate solutions and how we can build a cleaner, greener future. Each panel is unique with a different sustainability focus. Speakers from Dark Skies Alliance, California Native Plant Society, Local Government, and more, will share big impact solutions that everyday people can do to build a more sustainable and climate resilient future.

Nature Storytime at Crow Canyon Gardens
Each story time consists of a nature themed story, craft, and either a game or song. While all ages are welcome, Nature Story Time was designed for ages 0 - 5 years of age in mind. Meet at the picnic tables of Crow Canyon Gardens. Follow up story time with a nature walk in the garden and enjoy the peaceful, natural setting. $8.00 per story time or bundle for $25
