GENERAL COURT RULES & INFORMATION

Central Park Pickleball CourtsThe City of San Ramon has four Pickleball Courts located at Central Park. Courts are available on a first come first served drop-in basis and cannot be reserved. Court hours are dawn until 10:00pm. Lessons are not allowed per Ordinance 163. B5-14, unless provided by the Parks & Community Services Department. 

The Pickleball Courts are maintained by the San Ramon Public Works Department and the Parks & Community Services Department oversees programming. In support of the City's efforts to maintain the courts and serve as many community members as possible, we are asking all players to be aware of and abide by the following rules when using the courts. 

  • City of San Ramon Parks and Community Services Sponsored Programs have priority for court usage.
  • No person shall advertise, sell, vend, or offer for sale any product or service without the expressed written permission of the City of San Ramon. Ordinance 163. B5-14
  • No person shall provide or offer lessons or tournaments for compensation on City-owned courts except as part of an approved City-sponsored program.
  • Courts are available on a first come, first served basis. 
  • When players are waiting, courts must be made available after each game to allow for new players to rotate in. Players use the paddle holder on the fence to establish priority order for court use.
  • Court users can turn on the lights by pressing the button on the light post located near the middle of the court area.
  • Players must wear non-marking rubber soled shoes. 
  • Courts are for pickleball only. Recreational devices such as bicycles, skateboards, scooters, skates or shoes with built-in wheels and other sports equipment other than pickleball paddles and pickleballs are prohibited inside the pickleball courts. 
  • No food, pets or glass containers are permitted inside the courts. 
  • Radios or Amplified Sound Equipment are not permitted inside the court area at any time without written authorization from the Parks and Community Services Department Director. 
  • Courts are open to all community members to play at their own risk. Adult supervision required.
  • Abusive or offensive language and behavior are prohibited.

PRIORITY ORDER FOR COURT USE 

The Pickleball Courts have a paddle holder system on the fence to establish priority order for court use as needed.

  • First group of players place their paddles in the Red Grouping.
  • Slide the NEXTuP indicator to the Red Grouping. 
  • The second group of players will place their paddles in the White Grouping. 
  • The third group of players will place their paddles in the Blue Grouping and so forth. 
  • When the next up Red Grouping is ready to play on the court, SLIDE the indicator to the right under the White Grouping. 
  • Players LEAVING the court reload the paddles from the left to the right. 
  • When the indicator reaches the Purple Grouping, it starts over from the beginning, Left to Right. 

LIGHT SYSTEM FOR EVENING PLAY 

The Pickleball Courts at Central Park have a light system for evening play from dusk until 10:00pm.

Open Gym Pickleball

Sunday Afternoons: November 2024 - April 2025

 Time: 4:30pm-7:30pm 
Location: Iron Horse Gym, 12601 Alcosta Blvd, San Ramon 94583
Cost: $6 per person

Participants can use an Active Pass or pay onsite by scanning a QR code.  Please pay online prior to participating in open gym to reduce wait time to enter.  Please show payment receipt (paper of digital) when you enter in the facility.  All participants and guest must pay the entry fee during Open Gym in order to enter in the facility. 

Six courts available for drop-in play.   All participants must pay the entry fee, including all children. All Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied and signed in by an adult.
