The City has embarked on a process to develop a Walking District Master Plan for San Ramon’s City Core. Originating from a grassroots effort, this framework plan aims to define the location of walking and biking loops and enhance wayfinding and placemaking guidelines for the routes and signage in and around the city core.

On March 3, 2021, the City hosted its first community webinar to share more information about the project and hear residents’ insights on how to improve the walkability of San Ramon’s City Core.

After the first round of interviews, stakeholder meeting, and virtual public meeting, a series of draft recommendations were created for Walking District guidelines. These recommendations include the hierarchy or system of pathways, walking loops, amenities, and wayfinding strategies.
On May 19, 2021, the City hosted a public virtual workshop to share more information about the project and hear residents’ insights on how to improve the walkability of San Ramon’s City Core.
