City of San Ramon News & Information Update

 Friday, November 1, 2024

Upcoming Full Closure of Bollinger Canyon Road
Wednesday, November 6–Saturday, November 9

Bollinger Detour Map

Bollinger Canyon Road will be completely closed between Camino Ramon and Market Place from Wednesday, November 6 through Saturday, November 9. Detours will be in place to direct traffic around the construction zone. City Hall and the Marketplace Shopping Center will be open with access from westbound Bollinger Canyon Road.

This roadway closure is required to conduct a critical phase of construction on the Iron Horse Trail Bicycle and Pedestrian Overcrossing, where precast concrete deck panels will be set into the Overcrossing framework. Once this work is complete, the public will see the full Overcrossing base structure. However, the Overcrossing will not be fully completed or open until Summer 2025.

During the road closure period, construction activities will be taking place that require special safety measures, since workers will be using large cranes to lift heavy deck panels of the Overcrossing into place. It will not be safe for vehicles to drive under the over-roadway work.

Pedestrians and bicycles can continue to use the existing sidewalk detour route on the south side of Bollinger Canyon Road. Pedestrian scaffolding has been constructed for protection.
